Moving in together: did you each have a dresser?

My friend and her new man of 2 years are currently having a baby. I went over to their house and realized that the mans clothes are on top of the dresser and he doesn’t have one of his own. I later discovered that my so best friend has his stuff in a plastic makeshift item in the closet as the wife has so many clothes she hasn’t made room for him after 13 years.

I have another friend who has his girlfriend of 2 years have a nightstand with her stuff in it and a suitcase on the ground, while he has 2 dressers and a closet full of clothes for himself...

Are both people entitled to a dresser in the bedroom? Would you have a dresser in another room rather than having a messy looking room with your stuff scattered.
