Does a baby need both parents for a successful upbringing and future?

(In case of single parents choice ll be do u need to find a partner/remarry etc to make couple parenting happen.)

I was raised by a single mom. My dad was an alcoholic which led to their divorce so he was not a constant in our lives. My mom had a great support system around her of other adults who would help her out with my brother and I. A single parent is far better than two parents when one is toxic. I also do not think anyone should be in a relationship for the sake of having another parent for their child.

I think this is a case by case thing. It is obviously better to have both parents involved in the childs life but a single mother and a single father can absolutely raise children who end up having successful futures. It all depends on how dedicated and committed to the childs future the single parent is.

My dad dipped when my younger siblings were 5 and 7 and now they're 18 and 20. I can definitely see the negative results of not having a father figure in their lives, but my mom did an awesome job for what it's worth. It's sad though single-parent kids comparing themselves with other families that have both parents.
