Girls, I need advice

My partner and I were kinda trying for a baby since December. At the beginning of June my partner was made redundant and I was offered my dream job so we put things on hold for a while.

My last period started on the 17th June and lasted 4 days as it usually does and on the 5th and 6th of July I had tiny amounts of spotting and cramping, I went to the hospital and they said it could potentially be a cyst but they wouldn't know unless I had a scan (which has not yet happened) but they did a blood test and said I wasn't pregnant.

I was due on my period around 6 days ago and nothing... I took a test last night as I was panicking and it came back negative but I still have no sign of AF.

Maybe I took the test too late in the evening and I know I should have waiting for FMU but I was soo nervous... Can someone help me out? If I am pregnant I will honestly be over the moon but at the same time I know it's not the best time... I can't get another test until Wednesday evening after work, had anyone had anything like this and were they pregnant?
