Induction advice?

My due date is Thursday, but I have my weekly appointment tomorrow and if I haven’t progressed at all they are going to schedule me to be induced. I haven’t had any contractions and haven’t been dilated at all so far. My doctors office doesn’t allow us to go longer than one week past our due date. Does anyone have any advice going into an induction?

I was induced July 8th due to my cervix not progressing past 3cm. I feel like my experience overall was pretty good. It brings on strong contractions and they’ll get worse the further you dilate. I would say be ready for the pain. I was in labor almost 17 hours, she came the next morning. They had to break my water and it did make the contractions a bit stronger.

Thanks for the input. I’m going to wait to schedule it for a full week overdue. My doctor recommended waiting and said if i induced too early I’d likely end up needing a c section.

I would advice against it unless medically needed. They induced me for medical reasons with no dilation . I had 48.5 hours of labor including many rounds of different medications, way too many cervix checks and a folly ball to increase thinning of cervix (that was HORRIBLE) to the baby being in distress and having an emergency csection. Worst of both worlds. My little wasn’t ready to come out and my body wasn’t ready for it. 
Epidural surprisingly wasn’t bad at all. 
If you can avoid the folly ball I would recommend that!

My induction date was set for the 23rd, It was my first time getting induced I was worried about the outcome but I ended up being in labor for about 6/7 hours & I had my daughter at 6 a.m . The whole process was a success. painful & uncomfortable cause of the contractions but other than that it went good. It’s like your body going to labor on it’s own except the nurses basically forces it for you. You’ll be fine momma I hope you have a safe delivery. Good luck 🌸❤️

I had them break my water first to see if it would kick-start my labor without pitocin-induced contractions (it didn’t, but I was glad I tried)
