What color should I paint my nails?

I know my nails look awful, I need a mani STAT. I haven’t painted my nails in YEARS. So I’m pretty excited! Would love to know what colors are trending!

I used to paint my nails a dark black color because I had a printmaking class in college that would leave black ink stains all around my fingernails. It looked bad! Once I painted them black, they didn’t look so gross to me anymore (and the closet goth in me was thriving lol). So if you find yourself to be a messy person, black tends to hide things a whole lot more than other colors in my experience.
