Do girls really develop faster than boys?

This question is for people who have both, or have experience with both genders 
Do you find girls develop faster than boys? 
I have both, and my son is older.  He met all of his milestones extremely late, to the point I spent his entire infant and toddler years worrying constantly about his development.  My daughter is 8 months old now, and she crawled and sat up earlier than my son did, so I am hoping she does meet her milestones on time so I don’t spend these years worrying constantly 
Did you find that girls develop quicker? I’m sure not every girl does, but I’m hoping generally they do

I’m not sure. I have 2 older girls and a son who recently turned 1. My oldest was fast to roll, crawled at 10 months & walked at 12 months. Younger daughter didn’t roll until after a year (no clue why), crawled at 10 months, walked at 13 months, early talker at 11 months. My son was rolling around 6/7 months, crawling by 9 months, still isn’t walking independently yet (he’s 12.5 months) but he has taken steps, he’s just too scared to let go. And he says around 5 or 6 words. With potty training, my oldest was fully trained by 2.5 and younger daughter took forever, she was officially trained right before her 3rd birthday.

Its applies to us. But my son was early with his milestones as well (except for speech). My daughter was just even earlier lol. 
Now thinking about it, it’s pretty much like that in my whole family.

Could be but it can also be the boy is the first. The second child usually hits physical milestones faster too.
My first is a boy and he was late on all gross motor skills and because he took so long learning to walk (finally did at 17 months), he was behind in speech skills because he was concentrating on walking. 
He is 3 now and is all caught up. 
I’m having my second tomorrow (a girl) so we’ll see what her timeline will be!

Generally speaking. But of course you'll have boys hitting milestones early and girls hitting them later. It's not a hard fast rule but on average
