What to wear to a wake? (Funeral)

Keep in mind itsgoing to be hot Sunday like humid 89 degrees where I live  
I will be only staying there for an hour 
The jeans will be dark and the shorts are jean please help a girl out idk what shoes either

Umm. Jeans and shorts sleeve shirt... I wouldn’t wear shorts. And no tank top either.

If the tank top is modest and dressier, there’s nothing wrong with wearing a tank top. Something like this would be fine. As for shorts, they should not be shorter than an appropriate length skirt￼, which would be  about 3” above knee or longer. It is acceptable to wear more casual clothing to wakes these days. If you want to be less casual, wear the jeans or a skirt. If you don’t have a tank top as modest as this one, you’re better off going with a short sleeve shirt of any neutral color.

I would say as long as the tank top is modest and the shorts are modest, go with that. If the shorts are short and the tank top is skimpy, go with jeans and a short sleeve shirt. You don’t need to wear all black.

I personally preferred seeing color at my son's funeral. Black was depressing. I was the only one who wore black in my family, everyone else was in blue. It was a beautiful service. If you have dark jeans and a nice top, I think that will be nice.
