Does dilation matter??

I will be 39 weeks on Monday..had my 38 week appointment today and have made no progress since last week (1 cm dilated) Does this matter when it comes to having your baby?? I’m so done being pregnant and was hoping to be more dilated. :((

Nope! In the U.K. they don’t even check for dilation. You could be dilated for weeks and it doesn’t mean baby is coming any faster.

I went from a 0 to a 3 in 2 days and my water broke the next day it was crazy

Yea I didn’t dialate at all. And it just went down hill :( that’s why I’m waving checks. I don’t even want to know

No not really. You could go from 1-10 within hours. It really depends on if your body is ready and when baby decides to come.

I’m 5cm and 38 weeks been 4cm since 36. It’s hell.

Nope I was 1 cm with my son from 36 weeks all the way to 8 hours into labor. That stuff don’t really matter baby will always come when is ready .

I didn’t dilate at all when I had my son and 39+3, my water broke overnight. STILL didn’t dilate so I was given Pitocin, unfortunately.
