Why is my 8.5 month old still gagging on tiny chunks in his baby food?

He has two teeth on the bottom but he’ll gag if it’s baby food that has some chunks.

My boy just started to do well with regular food about a month ago and he is 9.5mo prior to that he would gag and throw up. He has zero teeth. They don’t need teeth to eat regular foods. They use their gums. I agree its probably texture. It just takes time to get use to it.

My baby too!!! She is awful @ purées and even tiny chunks of soft food .gags a lot!!

Saaaame. My boy is 8 months and I’m so scared to give him even toast fingers. He seems to want to shove the whole thing in and gags. He loves super smooth food. All we can do is keep trying I guess 😅

My baby is the same, we do purées to feed her and give her something to feed herself once a day to practice, she’s getting better but still gags a lot. I have a friend whose on baby number two and her first was like that and her second will self feed and eat anything, so I think it just depends. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything wrong she just needs more time to get used to it.

Maybe he just doesn’t like the texture ? My baby has no teeth and demolishes food lol
