Subcentimeter follicles?

Question

I recently had an ultrasound for suspicion of PCOS. Dr commented on the images & said Right ovary most consistent with hemorrhagic cyst & both ovaries have multiple subcentimeter follicles. 
Anyone have experience with either? I don’t understand what subcentimeter follicles entails.

Sounds like PCOS. I have it and had multiple subcentimeter follicles as well. I had the "pearl necklace" appearance in both ovaries. Its not impossible to ovulate with ovaries like that but it can be difficult to have regular ovulation, or a response to ovulation induction medication. Mine was severe and I had my ovaries drilled as a result. Hopefully yours isn't so bad. Did he mention next steps?
