Is your newborn actually sleeping in a bassinet?

Question

My baby won’t sleep by herself. Any tips for getting her to stay asleep in the bassinet?

I’m in between, he doesn’t like it but I just don’t feel comfortable sleeping with him on or next to me unless it’s on accident. I personally know two people whose children have died from sleep related accidents so I’m just too scared. 
That being said I learned a great trick that’s been working, I get him to sleep in my arms like 5 min or so after nursing and then transfer to the bassinet and 80% of the time that’s been working assuming he’s not cluster feeding.

For the most part she will fall asleep and stay asleep until it's time to eat. Sometimes I have to rock her a little after she nurses until she's almost asleep or asleep then move her. But she sleeps in her bassinet every night

My baby will sleep in his until his 5 o’clock diaper change and feed he won’t fall back asleep unless I’m holding him so he sleeps with me until we get up

My daughter is no problem in her moses basket and will actually sleep through feeds. My son on the other hand would not sleep by himself at all, I ended up so exhausted I accidentally would fall asleep with him which is the worst situation. So I ended up looking up safe bed-sharing (safe sleep 7) and he slept in my bed until his second birthday when I moved him into his own room and he has happily slept in his own bed since. If you're getting to the point of accidentally falling asleep holding your baby I would really recommend looking up the safe sleep 7, being able to safely sleep with your baby is so much better than trying so hard to stick to having your baby in their own sleep space that you end up mistakenly sleeping in a dangerous situation. The safe sleep 7 is now also recommended by safe sleep experts so don't think you're doing anything wrong if you end up going down that route.

This is my struggle. I can get him to sleep in it come three in the morning but before that i lay him down and hes up. My SO is on am 8 day stretch and is super cranky on no sleep(plus i feel like it bothers him so i end up sleeping in a chair since he will sleep in his playpen just fine and my first born wont sleep anywhere else but the couch. I been doing days and nights by myself since he works 12 hour days and a few 7-3 where i can catch a nap but only a few hours so i can sleep at night if baby lets me. Its a lot. I have people to call, but i only do when i cant physically stay awake any longer.

Struggling with this too. I’ve gotten her to sleep in a dockatot but I’m not comfortable using one unsupervised.. she seems not to like the open space of the bassinet

Mine refuses to sleep in the bassinet and will wake up when I put him into it while he is asleep. He sleeps next to me in bed (even though I never thought I’d do that). It’s the only way any of us gets sleep. I am super careful about having minimal blankets and pillows and none around the baby.

It depends. He will do small stretches in it but for the most part my husband and I have been sleeping in shifts because he’s awake most of the night cluster feeding. It’s pretty biologically normal though, babies are most relaxed when being held. Google the 4th Trimester!
