Should i just stay home and drive to my classes rather than live on campus and pay 10,000$ per year for JUST room and board?

I found a super cheap apartment right off campus and got a room mate. Paid 240 a month rent. That way I was still close to campus to use the library, study, do study groups, ect but didn't have to pay the crazy high dorm fee. Not sure if something like that is an option at all. Also depending on where your college is I know a lot of schools did not repay for rooming when covid shut campuses so be careful on that part...would suck to pay to live on campus to then have campus shut down again and you are out the money still.

I loved living on campus and I really grew a lot in my independence and being able to talk to new people and experience new moments. I can understand why people want to stay home to save money, but it’s not just for a room. It’s a whole other experience that commuter students often miss.

10k is a ton!! Save the money even if it’s just this year because this year is not going to be the best year on campus. All the fun events are going to be postponed or canceled.

Well. If u can afford to live on campus id recommend it your first year! It an amazing experience to hve! But if its gonna be a struggle then commute. Depending on how long the commute maybe find a apt and roomates.
