Yesterday I took a trip to the e.r. The on call doctor was concerned about preeclampsia. Over night I went from feeling great to feeling like I had been hit by a truck. My entire body ached, my head hurt, hands and feet had swollen and it felt like pins and needles in my feet when I tried to walk. My entire body felt heavy. When I got in my blood pressure was 151/92. I was absolutely terrified. They put me on monitors, checked the baby, ran blood and urine screens. Everything came back perfect so they did an ekg to check it wasn't my heart. They gave me their "headach cocktail" (Benadryl, Tylenol and meclizine) and fluids. I had spent most of Saturday outside not thinking anything of it. It was only in the 70s and I felt great. I had dehydrated myself and over heated without even realizing it. This is our 4th child. I've never had this happen before. It was so scary. Especially the thought of preeclampsia and possibly having to deliver my baby WAY to early 💔 we're at home. And my boys were super cuddly when I got back. Calling my ob today to follow up. Curious to see what she says about my water intake as she had just reduced my intake and on Saturday I followed her instructions exactly. Every day I do. 64-96 ounces of water and a 16 ounce Gatorade. We got lucky yesterday 💖 always listen to your body ladies!
