Anyone getting their baby a frenectomy?

We had it done at the hospital before we left with my first because he was tongue tied. It was super easy. We had to do finger sweeps for a short time just to make sure it didn’t reattach ( I Think like 2 days)

I did with my first! She was tongue and lip tied. 
Make sure it is done y someone who uses a laser! It’s like 30-45 seconds and done. Super simple and easy. Make sure to do the stretches afterwards.

My daughter actually had “mini clip” today. It was not a full frenectomy as my little girl Is 5 weeks old and the dr informed us that they don’t do a full frenectomy after the first 10 days due to the frenulum developing it own blood supply after that point. The clip is painless, however they do have to hold the baby down to get in there to clip the tissue which my daughter did not like and cried a bit. It was really not a big deal and there was not even any bleeding. Afterward she was totally fine. Alternatively my first born also had to have one for latch issues at around 3 weeks. It was a different dr and I don’t know if he was ok with doing the a full frenectomy past 10 days or what (we didn’t know there was a mini clip option then) but I’m almost certain he did the full one and there was quite a bit of bleeding which was a little traumatic as a new mom. It stopped very quickly but it still looked awful and made me feel terrible! Still was worth it though 100%!

I’m planning on getting one for my son. He has both a moderate tongue tie and a severe lip tie. We went to the dentist when he was a week old. They did a quick exam to confirm he had both ties (dentist just used his hands to check and see by pulling the lip and tongue back) and then they sent the request into insurance for approval. Currently waiting. They said the correction process was for both him and I to lay in the dentist chair and they’re gonna use a laser to separate it.
