Hsg test?

Anyone else have a hsg test done ? What was you experience? Did you get pregnant after ? Do you feel like it was worth getting?

Mine was very painful but not everyone experiences pain. The procedure takes 2 minutes.
If youre going to start any kind of fertility treatment, its worth having done. Blocked tubes have no symptoms and can happen for any or no reason so if they give you treatment with blocked tubes,  it'd be a waste of time, money and mental effort.
I did not get pregnant after mine but we have male factor and are in the middle of an ivf cycle now. The hsg test will only increase your chances slightly if it ended up removing some "mucus" from your tubes. My dr compared it to blowing your nose. If nothing was there, blowing your nose doesn't do anything. But if there was something there that it cleared, then it helps.
Take ibuprofen before you go and bring a pad in case they don't have one there (they will likely have one there for you)

It’s was mildly painful for like 20 seconds , then felt crampy for the rest of the afternoon. I think I conceived that same cycle , but it was one super faint positive. I 100% conceived the very next cycle , but miscarried  ... then got pregnant 6  months later , he’ll be 2 in October. It was definitely worth it for the peace of mind knowing 
my tubes were clear and uterus looked good ! Good luck

It wasn’t painful to me, just a little uncomfortable. My tube wasn’t blocked though (I only have one tube due to ectopic). Take some ibuprofen before and you’ll be fine ❤️ definitely worth it for peace of mind

It didn’t help us get pregnant, but was a test to help us figure out the next steps. It was a little uncomfortable. But it only really hurt for about 30 seconds. It felt like a horrible period cramp. ￼

I had it done, wasn’t as bad as expected assuming my tubes were not blocked because i have very little pain. Hoping it does something to help fertility.. starting to think its more of a hormonal problem because i have short cycles .

I had it done 2 cycles ago.  I got prescription pain meds to take before and they numbed my cervix with a needle, so it wasn't painful. I did have pretty heavy bleeding that day through that night, but I'm glad I did it.  I would recommend having it done

After hsg test of mine, Blood spotting was gone after 5 days.  But, after 10 days of test, we had our intercourse. That time, some blood clot came from my vajina and  cramping in my ovary. I observe this blood and cramping almost 3 days. is it a sign of infection? anyone facing this problem? plz share

Yes. If you are seeing a specialist I think it’s a routine/required test. Mine was pretty painful but I told myself I plan to push a baby out of my body so I better get used to pain lol. HSGs only have the potential to help with conceiving if you had small blockages that are cleared by the dye. That’s not the intent of the test, it’s to see if your tubes are blocked and if you may require surgery to unblock of remove them. I would say it’s worth it.

Is that the dye test? For me the dye test wasn’t painful at all. I didn’t even notice that they had done anything. The saline test was painful but only about 7 seconds. But that one took me longer to recover from. I kind of laid there for a bit.

Yes. It was horrifyingly painful. It took a week to feel back to normal. It did not help us.
