Induction tips???

Question

Posting here because it’s more active than the august group (I was due the 29th anyways), but does anyone have any induction tips for a ftm? Also I feel like I’m forgetting something in my hospital bag but I’m unsure so what we’re the important things you brought? I’m trying not to overwhelm myself but I’ve never experienced anything like this before, not even through friends 😅 Tia

I was induced at 41 weeks and just had my waters broken, no drugs used so I'm not sure I'm much help in regards to full induction. For the hospital bag I literally only needed a sleep suit, a going home outfit, something comfy for me, something for me to go home in, and some tens lady pants (I used them instead of pads early on). Lucozade sport and protein bars came in super useful though because I bled a little too much and needed to recharge. Chocolate also was a brilliant idea, it tasted soooooo good after giving birth 😂

And a bunch of stuff I didn’t use. I was still swollen in my ankles and exhausted. My hospital provides everything you need but I do recommend to over pack in case you want it to make you comfortable.

I was induced at 38 weeks (medically necessary)
I chose to try a foley bulb first. It was uncomfortable, but not painful. I did t see results like I wanted (it didn’t fall out after 6 hrs) so we started pitocin. You can start pitocin at a very low dose. My drip was in a 1 and we began to see progress. We slowly upped it but it never got above a 6. You don’t have to start it higher like most people I have known. 
From my bag, I only used this: 1 robe for after delivery. 2 nursing bras, 1 tank top, 1 going home outfit, socks, flip flops, toiletries for a shower and brushing teeth.

If available, request the peanut birthing ball. It helped me progress much faster and i was also able to get out of the bed.

I had a very difficult induction that lasted 48.5 hours before emergency csection. I didn’t want induced but medically they said I needed to be. 
Biggest recommendation do not do folly ball. Was pretty horrible for me. Epidural didn’t hurt at all. There is a lot of waiting and trying to sleep through the contractions

I used the Sukis labor and delivery tincture, ate dates and drank red raspberry leaf tea. As far as the hospital bag goes I packed a comfy outfit to birth and one to nurse in, a change of clothes for baby, makeup wipes, snacks, a pillow and blanket from home, cell phone charger. Things that I wish I had packed were body wash and slip on sandals. I wouldn’t go overboard with packing too much because you won’t have the energy or time to use most of the stuff.
