Relationship after baby?

Question

I'm a FTM pregnant with a baby girl. My SO and I have had our ups and downs like any other couple, but we've always pulled through and we love each other a lot. This will be our first child. Im a little worried about what life will be like after she's here. I know we're both so excited, but does all the stress of a newborn cause arguments? Did you feel distant from your SO? I just wanna make sure that we don't drift, TIA

Adding a baby to your relationship definitely does add it's own struggles. But, not in a way you should fear. Remember that it is another human life entering your relationship, and that's a big deal! With that said though, I don't think it's anything to worry about if you have built a strong foundation, or if you guys focus on building one now. The best thing you can do for your child is to have a great relationship with your spouse. It is so imperative that you two are a team. I definitely think that after baby it's easier to forget about eachother and after a week you think, "oh my goodness we need time for us!!" That will happen sometimes. It just happened to the hubs and I while we were consumed with our 10 month old getting her first tooth 😬 Just always remember that you made that child out of love. A love that you two share, and she/he wouldn't be here without it. So continue to focus on building and working on that love, and don't let it take a second seat to raising your child. You are a mom and your instincts will insure that you are doing the best you can for your child, but relationships aren't always instinctual like motherhood. You have to make a concious effort to love and work on problems as they arise :)

I say talk to your husband and get on the same page so when the baby comes there willnt be anything to fight about. Talk about how hands on you would like him to be, sometimes you will be just emotional and he needs to understand that you just need him there for you, also when it comes to you tending to the baby just helping out with dishes, laundry, floors, making sure you have eaten  helps a lot. My husband didn't start fighting till our son was born. It wasn't no full blow out fights just bickering. We were both exhausted and when he went back to work he thought he didn't have to do anything on his days off or when he got home from work. It took a few fights for him to finally get that I just wanted him to do something with his child not do everything. So it takes communication so don't hold anything in. And just be prepared to get annoyed cause you have 0 sleep with a new born. But if you are in love you can get passed the 0 sleep for a few months. It gets less stressful

A baby is always stressful. I always say it will make you closer or it will break you depending on how you handle things. There's the stress of no sleep. The extra costs. The know alone time. If you have a strong foundation before. A baby can bring you closer

I feel like stress and all that is normal when it comes to having a baby. It's a matter of how you handle it. Always communicate and make some necessary alone time for you two (because as much as a blessing babies are we all need a break at some point).
