How reliable is BBT? BBT recommendations??

first off, would any of you ladies recommend tracking BBT at all? this is my first cycle tracking with OPKs, so im very new to TTC. ive been off birthcontrol for 8 months and me and my partner always have unprotected sex any time with have sex with yknow... him doing the obvious in me. yet i still havent gotten pregnant. i do have PCOS but i know i ovulate since usually every month i have very stretchy EWCM, but according to my OPKs it might not happen this month? Two apps say that i ovulated two days ago and then Premom and Glow both say my ovulation day is in 2 days on CD20 and that im at peak fertility but my OPKs are still very faint. My cycle is usually 35 days or shorter, my last cycle being 37 and i started OPKs CD9 and today is CD 18.

but otherwise ive been doing research on doing BBT every morning but im getting mixed reviews over it... some say that its not necessary and others say its way more accurate than testing with OPKs (since OPKs apparently arent that reliable for a woman with PCOS?? im not sure on that either cause ive seen mixed OPK progressions for women with PCOS.)

What are your opinions on BBT? Would you recommend it? If so what kinds of thermometers would you recommend?

if this information can help with this, im 21, diagnosed with PCOS at age 18, been off birthcontrol for 8 months, not actively TTC during that time but still doing the deed unprotected like we also do, and this is my first cycle tracking with OPKs.
