Did anyone else freak out after getting home from the hospital?

When we got home I hadn't slept in 4 days. I had a panic attack realizing the nurses weren't there to help me and my baby looked so tiny I was CONVINCED I would accidentally crush her while breastfeeding.  I remember sobbing uncontrollably and finally my husband gently took her from me and told me to sleep. I slept 6 hours straight and so did baby (the only time we didn't wake her to feed her). I was still nervous after that but not as bad as I was initially

Omg I freaked out when we put him in his car seat. I had all these ideas prior to leaving the hospital room. 
I thought we stop by and grab a coffee, go pick up our dogs from the sitter, grab some drive through somewhere. I thought yay! Baby’s first adventure!
Well because of covid, I insisted on being released at 24 hours.  The hospital was too weird (cause of covid) and I just wanted to be in the comfort of my own home. It’s my 4th baby so I felt confident. 
Well let me tell you something weird happened when I put him in his car seat. He looked way to small and I freaked out and had major anxiety. 
My husband felt my energy and said I had a really scary vibe. I don’t know what I was feeling but it was a different kind of anxiety. Like zombies were going to pop out of some corner and chase us or something. Something super irrational was happening in my mind. It was a freaky 12 minute drive home. I tired to keep my mind clear and positive but my thoughts were racing. 
As soon as I was inside my home I was so relieved. He was able to run out and pick up the doggies and food. But wow! I will never forget how I felt buckling him in and driving through Los Angeles during this crazy pandemic.

Yep, my little one was 4pound, premi, I was happy she didn’t have to stay in the nicu but terrified when we got home. She was so tiny, I was away from family and my partner was too afraid to hold her. So I was on my own. Now she’s a big girl, can’t believe it’s been four months already

That’s how I was then her father had the nerve to help me upstairs with her then leave . Our first day home it was just me and her ... very nerve wrecking

I had that feeling when getting ready to leave at the hospital, just straight fear that I didn’t know what I was doing. It eased after a few days luckily but I agree those first 4-5 days were excruciating

I felt like that. Then my husband made me go take a nap. I was only able to sleep for 2 hours because I was feeding him still. It helped but in the end, I decided I needed to start supplementing with formula to give myself breaks and then by one month we completely transitioned to formula fed. I had too much anxiety and felt like I was going down the rabbit hole.

That is super normal, like post partum anxiety.  I'd definitely talk to your doctor about it even now hun
