rice cereal at 4 months?

do any of you guys give you 4 month old rice cereal? I'm waiting for the pediatrician to call me back to see if it's ok. and how much do you give and how do you give it. my LO just seems unsatisfied with her bottles like she is more hungry at certain times of the day. is anyone else experiencing this?

I give mine the oatmeal one I started him off with a  Half scoop  like say 6 ounces add half then when I felt that he wanted more I start makeing it thicker  I did that for both my kids and my husband also did that for his before we got married ￼￼￼

Yes we started cereal at 4 months for a week then introduced a vegetable ...I do 2tablespoons of cereal and mix it with formula not too thick not too runny and then give the vegetable... that’s for dinner and then bottle at bedtime 🙂

With my first son we started baby oatmeal at 4 months and will do the same with my second son who will be 4 months on the 15th. We decided to skip the rice cereal because it has no nutritional value to it. We also did purees here and there and will do the same again.

I started my daughter at 4months she didn't like cereal but she loved the purees. My son is 4months now but pediatrician said he isn't ready to start yet because he doesn't quite have the head control uet due to being 5weeks early.

thank you for all of the helpful responses! my pediatrician said they would not reccomend doing that until 6 months old now. man I swear things change all the time. which stinks bc I remember doing it with my first daughter early .

Just saw our ped on Monday so advised two tablespoons of baby cereal mixed with breastmilk twice a day. We started and baby doesn’t like it much. We manage to do 1 tablespoon a sitting before he fusses too much. It might depend on the baby and the doc. Our baby is very small, 7th percentile, so doc might have encouraged it for him to gain more weight.
