PMS symptoms can begin as soon as ovulation is over. The reason has to do with progesterone. Levels rise immediately after you ovulate and can result in symptoms like sore breasts, mood swings, food cravings or aversions, even cramping. Sometimes you start having symptoms right away, sometimes you won’t notice anything until days later. It can vary from woman to woman and even from cycle to cycle. I usually start getting some symptoms right after ovulation.

With BC it’s more like 1-3 days before.
