I posted this a few days ago, but I didn’t get any comments so I figured I’d try one more time. Just to see if it does better.

I’ve been on the pill for about 2 years. For the duration of those 2 years, I’ve had low sex drive and I’ve been completely unable to orgasm. (Which is low key so frustrating and I don’t know how I lasted almost 2 years like this 😂)

After talking to my doctor, she basically told me it’s because estrogen lowers testosterone so my body doesn’t react well to that. So she told me to quit taking it and give myself a break.

I just quit the pill 2 weeks ago and I finally have a sex drive and the ability to orgasm again so I’m feeling great but I’m looking into IUD’s.

I wanted to see how other women feel on Paragard and Mirena. Cause I’m stuck between them.

On one hand, Paragard has no hormones so I don’t have to worry about losing my orgasms again, but also I have bad periods already so I’m questioning if it’s the right fit.

On the other hand, Mirena gives you lighter periods and has only progestin so it won’t affect my testosterone, but I’m worried I might have the same issues I had on birth control. My doctor said there’s a chance that can happen.

I just wanted to see if anyone had had the same issues as me on the pill and if they recommend one IUD over the other.
