And if the previous president already served 2 terms can he be “promoted” to acting president if something were to happen to the current president?

For example: if Obama became President “Doe”’s Vice President & for whatever reason President “Doe” couldn’t do it anymore, would Obama be allowed to sit in as President until President “Doe” was replaced?
