Benadryl for 8 month old baby?

Hi, my baby has allergic reaction today, he develops red bumps all over the body; we called his doctor and she told us to give baby 3.5 ml Benadryl as our baby weighs 22lbs. My husband rushed to CVS and only found one Benadryl that is for 6 year and older, and it says on the package that do not use on children under 2.
As it is directed by the doctor, we finally gave it to baby, now I am worried; am I doing the right thing? Why it says do not give child under 2 but my doctor said to give it to him? Did you happen to have similar experience? Thanks a lot!

I gave children’s Benadryl to my baby at 5 months. The doctor gave us the dosage and all is well. Trust your doctor, and if you don’t, get a new one.

When my son was 8 months old he was sick for a while so his pediatrician said children’s Benadryl is what he needed to take. Confirmed with a pharmacist as well if infants take children’s Benadryl and was
Told it is used for infants directed by a doctor . They don’t have otc infant Benadryl  like infant  Tylenol or Motrin unless there was a prescription. You baby will be fine😀

We gave our son Benadryl at about 5 months old. I didn’t see that it said not for children under 2 until after I gave it to him and then I freaked out, but he was fine. My sister also gave her daughter Benadryl for an allergy at around a year old (for hives). I read about it online during my freakout, and it looked like a lot of the studies that claimed it wasn’t safe were when parents were giving it to babies to make them sleep.

We used childrens benedryl when my son was under 2. As long as you give the appropriate dosage from your doctor based own their weight. I think its says for 2 and up on the package because it varies so much with their weight and they don't want parents giving babies too much of a dose.

We gave our son children’s Benadryl per the pediatrician’s recommendation when he had an allergic reaction to peanuts. He was 8 or 9 months old. It helped take his hives away right away and he had no negative side effects. You did the right thing.

Our doctor said no to the over the counter benedryl and gave us a prescription for a baby benedryl for our 6 month old. Every doctor is probably different 🤷
