Did you wait 18 months after giving birth to start trying for baby number 2?

Hi, ladies! 
I am currently almost 10 months post partum and I want to start trying for another baby again! However, I know that it is recommended by most medical professionals to wait a year and a half. I think my body is ready and I want to have my children close together. 
Why did you wait the full 18 months? Did you only wait a year? Did you start trying immediately? Put in your two cents.

We started trying almost immediately. We had unprotected sex often but I didn’t get my first cycle until 14mpp. (Yes I tracked with opks and bbt for that long with nothing 😂🤦🏻‍♀️) 
My cycles were not regular at all. 18mpp was my next cycle. It took us 10months from 18mpp to conceive.

I cant ' wish ' I did bc I had 2 miscarriages while my son was in his 1st year but as I m 22 weeks along I say it seems it was meant to be bcci just weaned my 2 year old n potty training is still hard w a belly along w going out n n everything. My older 2 are 3 n a half yea apart n that was a food gap bc I had a helper n my oldest understood how to stay close n listen ( most of the time..was still scary going to the store ..once she ran for laughs n I had to leave my purse to jump out to her )

One factor is whether you delivered vaginally or via c-section the first time around. If you delivered vaginally the first time the wait in between isn’t usually as big of a deal. 
I would ask your doctor their opinion before starting TTC.

We started trying when my daughter was 13m. We had a previous miscarriage (before my daughter) and didn’t want to wait a long time if we had difficulties. We got pregnant first try and I’m now 32w, our daughter will be 22m when the baby comes in early October!

Personally, I waited because the risk isn’t just to you, it’s also a risk to the baby in terms of low birth weight, complications etc. That doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed but for me it wasn’t worth the risk

Waited til ~15 months pp, our babies will be almost/possibly exactly 2 years apart.

I started trying again 3 months pp :) lol everything is still going good but I wouldn’t recommend doing it that early
