Would falling in love senior year of highschool count as HS sweethearts?

If someone started dating in March of their senior year of highschool, then fell in love by April, and graduated in May and are still together 5yrs after highschool, would they be high school sweethearts??? 
(She dated other people prior but she is his first girlfriend/love/sex partner)

I wouldn’t consider it that, personally. I see “high school sweetheart” as a person you were with throughout high school, or for a while at least.

I'd say yes. My husband and I didn't start dating until the last 2 weeks of high school, but we were best friend since the beginning of sophomore year.
