My mother was married twice. Both times in a courthouse (in a romper 😂). She asked me if I wanted to get married in a church or in a courthouse like she did. Well...

My boyfriend of three years told me he wanted a big church wedding with a big reception and what not. I assumed that that is what we were going to plan and obviously if he said that, it’s because he actually wanted it. Today he told me that he’s not the “marriage type”, meaning that he doesn’t necessarily want to get married but that he would. I just don’t understand that. We talk about our wedding all the time. So was he just lying? If feel like most of the time he says things just to please me but then it hurts when he lets me know the truth later on. I don’t even want the big wedding so why lie? I just don’t think he actually wants to be married.

He wants to have kids and live together. He said he would wear a ring if I got him one. He also talked about proposing to me (could you even do that if you don’t plan on legally marrying?) I just hate being lead on or lied too.
