Waiting until after period before trying again?

I am wondering what your care providers have told you about waiting until after having a period before trying to conceive again?

My Dr said to wait while I know others have been told to just wait until hcg is at 0.

I’m really eager to get pregnant again and don’t want to miss the opportunity if I have a cycle soon but also would feel terrible if I didn’t wait for a period first and then something went wrong again.

I know my Dr is very conservative so I’m just trying to get a balance of what other professionals have said!
