Are reusable menstrual pads good?

I've been curious if those reusable lady pads are good for you and if they are also good for the environment. Does anyone have experience with these reusable pads?

I haven't tried reusables for regular days, but on lighter days I will use folded bits of cloth I have recycled from an old set of super soft sheets. I actually find this more comfortable than manufactured pads because I can fold them to whatever size I want and are so so soft they hardly feel different than just undies. Following guidelines to avoid toxic shock would be appropriate (making sure to change at regular intervals and avoiding overly scented cleaners, I think). It's simple to clean them: rinse first, soak with peroxide if you care about stains, and toss in to wash like normal. Some people opt for black fabric so they can't see the stains. I don't have a brand recommendation as it's dead simple to diy. Good luck!

I use Party in My Pants pads and they've been great! I also use a menstrual cup for heavier days, and the pads for back up. I have three pads and they've held up great over the last year and a half.
