Clomid for the 1st time?

Question

My husband and I have been together for 7 years and actively TTC for 3 years. I went to a new OBGYN and she recommended I got started right away and got my blood tested. Before the results came back she said we may try clomid or something to boost ovulation. 
Turns out my bloodwork came back regular levels- but wondering if taking clomid could boost my chances?

Yep- Clomid will increase follicles. I have normal labs and did get pregnant the first round of Clomid. Unfortunately, this ended in a miscarriage

Update*** my doctor actually prescribed me to Letrozole (Femera) as she prefers this one..
So...same question..also any suggestions?
I ordered pre-natals and vitamin C+D for immunity as well as the fertility-tea to try and drink in the morning and at night as a replacement for coffee/wine.
