My husband and I recently decided that we need to move our family out of California. Reason being, it’s just too damn expensive here. We pay $2,300 in rent every month for a small 2 bed 1 bath apartment. It’s insane.

We have 2 daughters, ages 4 and 7. Our plan is to move at the beginning of 2022, because that’s when I’ll have my MBA and he will have his bachelors. So the timing is fine for planning.

My question is for anyone who has done this before, if you have any advise as far as getting a job in the state you’re moving to beforehand. That’s what the ideal scenario is. And if you went without securing a job first, how much did you have saved first?
