Chemicals

So my inside dogs were infested with fleas! Thank God there are none in the house! But we bathed them really good and picked them off. Well my mom sprayed them with flea killer and they sleep in my bathroom. I jsut went to pee and the smell is so strong! Like it was hard to breath. Will the smell hurt? Its just the smell now im not inhaling the actual spray. Im 21 weeks? Is it ok? Also any tips to repel fleas more naturally? And can I use flea shampoo? On the dogs not me lol
