Are your March boys talking much?

My son understands directions, object name (go get the remote etc), we’ve been working on counting to five and when I count he use his fingers (it’s so cute) ..... basically understands everything but barely talks but when he does he say mom, dad, balloon, shake head for no and up and down for yes. This is my first so was just curious if it’s a boy thing. My niece is 3.5 months older and is a nonstop talking machine 🤣

Yes, he doesn’t ever stop. About 60% of the time I can’t understand what he’s saying but he has surprised me with how many words he knows already.  I made a list of all the words he uses consistently, correctly, and regularly (although he doesn’t pronounce them all perfectly yet) and I gave up when I hit 90 (he also signs another 10-20).  At 11 months he couldn’t crawl, walk, or say any words, but in the last 7 months everything has come in the blink of an eye! So don’t worry, the words will come and once they do they won’t stop!

My son only has a handful of words but comprehends what I’m saying similar to your son. It makes me worried when I see other kids his age talking up a storm but I keep trying to remind myself that each kid develops at different rates. I understand your anxiousness.

My son talks none stop in his own way however he actually only says mam and yum yum when he hungry he won’t even attempt to say dad r anything. He fully understands what anyone says to him

My son has a few words under his belt. He tries very hard for others. Today he said “Tia” when talking to his aunt on the phone. In total, he says about 20 “words” that I can make out. He also baby jargons a lot. Like idk what you’re saying dude.

I mean, I think it all depends on what we consider “words.” There are a lot of things he says that I understand because I know what he’s saying but most people would think it’s just nonsense. Notably, he does not say mom. He knows the dog’s name. Doesn’t say mom.

A lot of babbling but he’s starting to repeat words a bit more. I saw a girl close to his age a few weeks ago and was blown away by how much she talks. I’d say if they’re understanding then that’s a good sign, they’ll speak when they’re ready I guess!
