Second Time Around?
Hi! I’m currently on my second round of IVF! No fertility issues with my husband or myself, but I just turned 41 and before that we tried for 8 months with no results. We could have kept trying for a while, but didn’t want to waste any more time so decided to jump right into IVF since they say I’m a good candidate for it. First round we got 33 eggs, 25 mature, 21 fertilized, but only 5 made it to blast BUT we got one PGS normal one! The doctor thinks maybe we “over cooked” my eggs a bit and a different protocol will result in better or as good results the second time. I’m hoping a bit better, obviously. Does anyone have any experience with a change in protocol the second time around? How did it go? We’re also going to unfreeze the 23 mature eggs I had frozen three years ago, before I met my husband, and have those fertilized. Does anyone have any experience with unfreezing their frozen eggs? Or know someone who did? Thanks in advance for any advice/stories!
