University reputation

So in the US there is an evangelical Christian school called Liberty University. In addition to being a very Christian university, it’s long had issues with diversity and has a reputation (I won’t get into whether I consider it a deserved reputation) of being a racist school where the student body and many faculty have been accused of saying, tweeting or wearing racist things. The head of their diversity program who graduated from the school and is African American left and has spoken about his experience of racism at the school and several student athletes have done the same.

Would you weigh that into your hiring decision if the applicant graduated from this school? Would it matter if they not only went there for undergraduate but decided to stay even longer in that environment for graduate school?

(Full disclosure: I was prompted to ask this because one of my kid’s teachers this year is white and graduated from Liberty. The school where she’s teaching is 74% minority.)
