**long post alert**

Back story: my cousin who’s a very pretty almost 25 year old started talking to an attractive man who says he’s 28 now about a year & a half ago. They live an hour apart. This man says he owns this $400k townhome, a $70k truck, his grandpa gave him $ when he passed now he’s starting his own business. (Too good to be true, maybe?) They met on ‘hinge’ I think it’s a dating app.

When they first started talking 1.5 years ago she was only 1 month out of a relationship. They hit it off quickly but every time they were suppose to meet. Something came up, like his infant son from his ex was in the hospital, or car had a flat etc. After a couple of weeks trying to meet this man... she gave up and ended things, doubting if he was real. He also never FaceTimed, and didn’t want to prove his identity by taking a picture of himself holding a piece of paper with her name on it. He would get mad when she asked.

They just reconnected about two weeks ago. Again starting to talk on this dating app. They were suppose to go on their first date on Wednesday, but he broke his foot the day before. He has pictures of a broken foot. Then he was suppose to come meet her yesterday but he had to help his cousin move (with a broken foot!??). Every time she asks to FaceTime, he says he can’t because his now 2 year old son is with him. If he does FaceTime her like this morning, it was at 3:30am when she’s obviously sleeping. So she tried FaceTiming him back at 9:30am when she woke up & he said he’s out to breakfast with fam. Now he is suppose to be coming to meet her tomorrow instead... & in my gut I know he’s going to come up with another excuse or pick a fight with her so he doesn’t have to come.

He says he owns a home, real estate address look up says nobody with his name owns a home in the county he says. His phone # is registered to a completely different mans name. He has no social networks besides Snapchat. I can’t find anything on the Internet with this mans name, in the city he lives... nothing.

Theirs obviously a chance this man is completely real as he does post to Snapchat every day. But as an older protective cousin, I’m just a little afraid for her.

She also confides in me every day about the situation, she’s hopeful because they really have hit it off but both of us have doubts of his identity.
