Many many people have kids AND jobs.

That should've been a consideration before having a child. At this point your best bet would be to find reputable child care and then a job. There are millions of working moms out there, you are going to have to figure it out.

If you need additional support, you could ask to speak with a social worker at the hospital you delivered at or get connected through your pediatrician to one. They can help you determine if you are eligible for any public benefits in your state/city (SNAP/food stamps; cash assistance; housing/rental assistance; possibly social security if you or your child have any sort of disability; etc). You should definitely ask about WIC which helps with specific food and baby items. Each locality has different programs with different requirements. A social worker will be the best place to start. It might require a bit of annoying paperwork and showing up to a number of interview appointments, but if you need help, don’t hesitate to ask and don’t let the other commenters here make you feel guilty about doing so. Best of luck!!

If you find a way to make a liveable income without a job of any kind, please let us all know. If you're just looking for a few bucks here and there, all I can think of is those online surveys that pay you like $10 after you take a million surveys.
