Do you think exclusively pumping is just as good as exclusively breastfeeding?

I really don’t think I can do it this time, I’m still nursing my June baby until baby #2 gets here. I’m really considering just pumping milk for this baby..

Pumping is just as good as nursing which is just as good as formula feeding. Honestly don’t care what negative comments I get for saying this. Just feed that baby and take care of yourself. Whatever you choose is best.

I pretty much was ready to lay my pump out in the middle of the street and set it on fire after pumping for 5 months. My daughter wouldn't latch so I pumped and supplemented with formula and eventually went to straight formula. Whatever keeps you sane is what you should do!

Ugh its a tough one...im still bf june baby and im due baby #3 in January. Ive now got it down to 1 or 2 feeds in 24 hours but its impossible for us to drop those😩 i want a break between! BUT I've pumped maybe 10 times in total and it gave me a whole new respect for pumping mamas! There is no way I personally could be a pumping mama and those who do are AMAZING! And I absolutely don't want to be that person so I apologise in advance...how ever you feed your baby is amazing...breast milk any how IS better but obviously the direct latch is what makes the make up of breastmilk EXACTLY what your baby needs at that exact time 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

I exclusively pumped because my baby was a preemie and wouldn’t transfer milk and it is hard. I’ve exclusively pumped for all 3 of my kids (who were all preemies) and it is so time consuming. Also, every time I sat down to pump, no matter if my babies had just been fed/changed/sleeping, they suddenly needed something. It’s so much more to clean...pump parts and bottles. Looking back with my June baby, I should have just formula fed. I would have been a much happier mama if I wasn’t hooked up to a pump every 2-3 hours. You can always try it and see how it goes for you!

Absolutely as good as but soooo much harder!! I really hated exclusively pumping towards the end and stopped. Just remember whatever you end up doing is perfect!

I breastfed my first 2 and pumped for June baby as she wouldn’t latch. I found pumping waaaay harder and more time consuming than breastfeeding! I think you have to do whatever you’re comfortable with though!

I clicked no before properly reading the post 😳! It isn't as good for the baby as breastfeeding, because your nipples respond to your child's saliva to make a cocktail of anti-bodies perfect for your baby, but honestly if you would prefer to pump then go for it. If it's better for you personally, it's better for the baby.

I exclusively pumped with my first and breastfed my June baby. For me breastfeeding was way easier and it was nice not having to wash pump parts all the time but honestly it’s whatever works best for you and your family 😊
