Hospital bag - baby?

Question

What do I need in the hospital bag for baby? I saw check lists that included socks, mittens, several onesies, caps, diapers, do they provide anything? I'm in the US. Thanks!

I don’t bring anything for baby. Hospital provides clothes, hats, diapers, wipes, blankets. Many people like to bring cute outfits for pictures, so that may be all if you want. I have given birth at two different hospitals in the US and didn’t “need” anything either time. It’s just what you want or think would be cute.

They literally provide EVERYTHING! You do not have to take a single thing if you do not want to... personally I’m just bringing his coming home outfit & a blanket! 💙

I didn’t need anything but the outfits i wanted him in. Hospital has everything else. I did a lot of skin to skin and they have to do tests and check the baby a lot so he really stayed in the little hospital shirt until the day we took him home.

I called my hospital to see what the provide and they provide a lot actually. They will have onsies and stuff for the baby so I will just need to bring cute outfits if I want for her to wear. And they supply things for the mom too

A couple of onesies, a couple of swaddle sets, a zipper pajama, and the photo outfit. My hospital provides everything else.

My hospital gives a size 3 month shirt for the baby which is always overly big for my kids.. I like to use my own stuff. I packed hats, mittens, socks,PJs and onesies, pacifier, and wipes..the hospital I go to doesn't give wipes,just these cloths that you wet.. and I packed a cute photo outfit and going home outfit, plus my own swaddles.. they also give size 1 diapers, which are the same pamper ones that I'm using anyway at home
