Puzzles, shape sorters, and coloring?

Just curious, how are your little ones with these activities? My son just now is getting more patience with puzzles, but still needs me to help him fit them into the right place. He is the same with shape sorters and doesn't know what hole they go in unless I show him. And coloring he just jabs at the coloring books with the crayons for a few minutes and is done. 😂 Just curious what other babies his age are like with these activities. I know all kids are different!

About the same here! My daughter just takes the lid off the shape sorter and throws it in the bucket rather than fitting it in the appropriate hole 😂 We just got her some puzzles, maybe a mom fail we’re late in the game on this one, and she just chews on it. She loves coloring but it’s a lot of stabs, jabs, and streaks leading off the page and onto whatever surface shouldn’t be colored in.

We haven’t tried puzzles yet but with the shape softer my daughter only gets the circle one right, the rest I have to help her with.

So, my daughter can get the puzzle pieces in the right spot, but not in the hole, if that makes sense. Haha. She’s getting better! The shape sorter is hit or miss! Sometimes she puts them in the right place, other times she gets frustrated and throws the shapes. Coloring has been going pretty well! Also, she loves sticker art! Our current favorite activity is playing with canned foods. She loves it so much!

Pretty much sounds exactly like my daughter. She will do the shape sorter if I show her where the shape goes. Coloring books are lines and squiggles. She has bathtub crayons now and has been loving those.

We have a little mini magna doodle that he loves. He’s figured out how to erase it so he can draw a picture, erase, and draw a new one. And no worries about crayon everywhere. I second the throwing when it comes to puzzles and shape sorters. Far more entertaining to throw the pieces. He can catch balls now, so we’ve moved beyond just strictly throwing 🤣.

I just sit back and watch with these activities. They are exploring and developing motor skills so I just let my son do it how he wants to. With puzzles he usually figures out the right spot even after putting the wrong piece there. Just learning to enjoy watching him grow!

I haven’t tried coloring yet. Prob will soon. He plays with shape sorters for a little bit but gets bored once he does them a few times. I recently got him the flash cards someone recently posted about and he loves them! I’ll lay out three animals and tell him to pick up the cat or just show him the picture and show him “tree”.

My little guy loves shape sorting, eats or tries to colour the table or floor with crayons, and I haven’t even started puzzles yet because his current thing is throwing everything 😂
