Does anyone have identical twins that are not in the same sack but share the same placenta? Curious to know how often this happens.

Fyi: (because I didn't know this either) Just because they are in their own sac doesn't mean they are not identical, it all depends on the number of placentas!

I was told that even though my boys are di/di (2 sacs, 2 placentas), there is still a chance that they can be identical because they are the same sex. Twins are weird and literally anything is possible haha some more rare than others, but always possible. I believe the only way to tell is by DNA

What Shelby said! ^ you have to get a swab DNA test on same sex twins after birth (with two sacs and two placentas) to know whether they are truly identical or not. That's the only way to know!
