Just wanna vent about my messed up OBGYN

So, I just now dropped my OBGYN. Let me give you guys a timeline on all the garbage Ive had to deal with.

First visit: I have to tell my OB that Im planning a home birth because she tried to set up a plan for me to birth at their affiliated hospital. After telling her this, she tells me a handful of horror stories and then basically calls me irresponsible for wanting to proceed with a homebirth.

Second Visit: I tell her I think I may be further along than I really am (I was supposedly at 10 weeks, but turned out to be closer to 15!), because my morning sickness and breast soreness went away quickly. She tells me, "You may have miscarried, we'll see at the ultrasound". I messaged my midwife so fast and was so terrified, my midwife came over and checked for the heartbeat and my baby was fine. The OB didnt offer to check the heartbeat.

Third (and final) visit: My first ultrasound, we found out I was actually further along and so much that we could tell the babies gender! But... then when I went to pay for the appointment (i dont have insurance so I was paying up front for every appointment), I was told I needed to pay for a full pre natal care AND hospital birth plan to continue receiving care from the OB. I said I was doing a homebirth and wouldnt need care past my second ultrasound (because I have a midwife), and they said "Well we still have to chage you the full amount but we'll refund you if you dont end up in the hospital". EXCUSE ME? Youre just gonna hold on to THOUSANDS of dollars of mine? I was shocked and brought up the prior payment plan only to be told it wasnt "valid". I cancelled my second ultrasound with them and have never felt so empowered!

If your provider doesnt support your birth plan, they dont deserve your money.
