Anyone Else?

Question

I have a thing where if I can help it I like to go to bed with my husband at the same time. Even if we don’t fall asleep at the same time just being together, maybe talking, looking at our phones together even! But my husband has just been obsessed with staying up every night playing video games online with his friends... he is on paternity leave since we just had our second baby. 3weeks old now. And I just sit in my bedroom alone with our new baby and put him to sleep myself... I just feel like he’s taking this paternity leave as his own free time not being with his family. He also half the year works night shift so I don’t get to see him in the evenings anyways. I’m just sick of being put on the side while he stays up all night with his friends

You’re 3 weeks PP and he is currently on paternity leave and staying up late just to play video games?!!! No honey, he needs to be helping out and helping you in your recovery. I would be livid! 
My husband had only 1 week off for paternity and then went back to work. Even after he returned, he always helped out as soon as he got home. Even late night feedings so I could get some sleep. My parents and sister-in-laws came over during the day to help me since I had c-sections with both our boys. 
Even now with our youngest being 15-months, we still have our routine. We also have a 4-year old. Every other night, we switch off who does the others bath and nighttime routine. We switch every other day on who gets up with the baby if he wakes up at night and needs to be put down.  We also rotate our weekend days on who gets to sleep in. So one Saturday I get to sleep in and he gets up with the kids, Sunday I get up with the kids and the following weekend he will then get to sleep in on Saturday and visa versa.  
It’s so important that you share in the responsibility’s and bonding times with your little ones. It helps us each be able to have time with each child but also, then we can’t argue over one person feeling like they are doing more 😂 
But right now your husband should be helping you tend to the baby so you can also get some rest.

Since you’ve told him multiple time and he won’t change. I would suggest giving him some baby responsibilities, like putting your son to sleep rather than you being in bed doing that alone. Give him some duties at night time wince its both you’re child & you’re most probs tired. This should make your husband tired to as im sure the baby wouldn’t fall asleep immediately that way your husband will be too tired to play games
