Been for a private scan I’m 27 weeks 3 days and the scan lady has told me to speak to my midwife, as she’s said I’ve got more water than usual and baby estimated weight is 2lbs 8oz and is on the 95th centile line. wanted to ask if this is a normal weight?

I’m having my private scan this Monday and I’m a nervous wreck! I’m scared he may have a cleft lip or something I’m so scared. Obviously I will love him no matter what but it’s like a big surprise you don’t know what you will see. Praying everything is fine and I’m worrying for nothing! I think ur baby is fine don’t worry!

95 percentile means your baby is measuring larger than 95% of other babies their age.    That means highly above average.  So not “normal” but doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong.  She might be suggesting you see your midwife because the midwife is familiar with you where the private scan is not.

I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and he was 2lbs 5 oz my next one is a week on Friday so will see what he weighs then

My little girl who I’m currently pregnant with at 28 weeks was weighing 2pound 12 so I’d say completely normal as my midwife said she was on the right track x

Its completely normal. 95% is within the standard curve. There are big babies and small babies and everything in between, just like adults. It just means that right now, your baby is measuring bigger than 95% of babies her age. My first daughter was 90-95% percentile all through my pregnancy and she is now almost 4 and is still 90% in height and weight, just like I was when I was her age. Perfectly healthy.

I’m not sure but I had a doc appt at 27 weeks 5 days and baby weighed 2 pounds 7 ounces and doctor said that was great, I asked him if that was to big and he said no not at all right on track so I wouldn’t worry to much if your actual doctor hasn’t said anything but it doesn’t hurt to call them and have them check it out instead of an elective place

She asked if I’d had the GTT test and I did at 24 weeks and my results came back normal, is there any other reason that I could have more water than usual?
