I have a question concerning miscarriage.

I’m posting this in TMI questions because I know miscarriage can be touchy and is a painful subject for a lot of women. I’m currently pregnant and didn’t want to post this in a topic about miscarriage where there are women who are still mourning loss.

I feel the internet has a lot of mixed information on the chances of miscarriage. I had one in December and I didn’t have any testing done because it was super early and they said it’s not uncommon for a genetic abnormality in the fetus to cause a miscarriage. Alright, got it.

Fast forward to August 18th I finally got my bfp... but of course I feel nervous and anxious as hell about having another miscarriage. I have my first “appointment” scheduled but it’s going to be by phone 🙄

I’ve been researching (or trying to) the chances of having 2 in a row. Some sources say recurrent miscarriage is uncommon while other sources say the chance of miscarriage INCREASES after each one.

I know it’s different for everyone. I know women who had 4 in a row and finally got their rainbow baby and I know women who had a random one in between their children. This is probably an impossible question to answer but maybe some insight from more women... maybe some of you have some helpful words from your doctors or experience to share. I really only got to speak with a midwife when they were telling me what to expect while I miscarried. I didn’t get to my first prenatal appointment. Hoping this time will be different.
