Haha where do babies come from? (6 year old eyes)

So my son is a little curious but I don't know what to say. He might have to be in the room when I deliver. Honestly he might have his 3ds or tablet stuck to his face the whole time. (Unless you have ideas, he doesn't color) or do you think I should find someone to watch him? My husbands family might step up more than my family.

Maybe find someone to watch him it may be to graphic for him if he happens to be curious or hears you in pain and wants to see whats going on but only you know whats best for you and your family..best of luck

My son is 7 and he knows how baby are born we talked about it and I explained to him all the details. He has told me he wants to be there when his sister is born but he doesn't want to see anything! He said it makes him feel uncomfortable. Talk to you your son and ask him what he's comfortable with and find out what he already knows and if there are things you need to explain to him. I find if they are prepared and know what to expect it's not so bad. Good luck I hope all go well for you 😊

I don't have any kids yet, but I would be hesitant to have a kid that young there. Also, ask what your hospital/birthing center rules are. Sometimes they don't allow kids under a certain age.

Also, sometimes emergency c-sections are needed and you'll need the father (and no kids) in the OR with you in case it does happen.

Our hospital doesn't allow anyone under 18 in the maternity ward in flu season, unless it's a sibling after baby is born. It's for very limited time and they have to wear a mask and wash there hands to come in. So i would defiantly find someone to watch him. If something were to go wrong and dad had to fly out with baby and you're stuck in the hospital over night he couldn't be there.

My son might be in the room when his sister is born, we'll have him sit in a chair at the head of the bed, I want him to be a part of us meeting her the first time. He's only 4, but I think mostly he'll be concerned about comforting me

I don't think there is sny thing wrong with a 6 year old knowing how babies come into the world. Having them in the room to witness the pain their mom is in, and the potential problems that could occur, I think is inappropriate. I would definitely find someone to watch him.

My 2 year old may have to be in the room when I deliver, not my first choice, but being that I'm 4 hours away from any family since the army moved us, there is a chance my mom might not make it up here in time. We're planning on bringing a lot of toys and games for her to play she's not one for coloring either. It sucks but I can't just tell the baby to stay in.

I would see if I can find someone to watch my older children/child ( when I have a second, working on the first).

For me personally it would be a piece of mind, where I can focus on what I need to do. But that's me personally, everyone has their own way.
