What did you do with your older children during birth?

Question

I have a 6 year old and might be forced to have him in the delivery room. I don't have family that just steps up for me. 
I was 13 and saw my sister give birth at 15 and never really wanted kids because of that experience. But being in love with kids in having my second... 
But let's be honest I can't just leave him at home. And yes my SO could stay home with him but if my SO isn't in that birthing room I'm going to flip out. 
So idk what to do.

It really stinks when you don't have anyone to watch your older kid while you're in the hospital. I had my in laws take my 5yo last time for the weekend but I didn't end up having the baby till Monday morning and then my mom had to go and get the 5yo and it was a huge deal because she works and my in laws just gave up on her and one of them don't work. I was lucky though that they all just dealt with it and I didn't have to stress. This time, however, they better get their shit together because I have an almost 3 yo and an almost 9 yo that need watching. I think my husband will have to come home at night to put them to bed but I'm hoping someone will stay at our house while we're gone.

Start looking for a sitter on sittercity.com or other similar websites. I can't remember the name of the other main one. 
If you start early, you can get to know him or her really well. Do you have any friends in the area? They may be more willing to come over at a random hour in the night. 
We are planning on our two best friends taking our 2 almost 3 years old (at the time of birth) to the park, their mom's house, ice cream, etc. While we have a home birth.
