I’ve never researched the history or background of this topic, but I still find it odd that when throwing parties the person who is being celebrated is expected to provide, food, games and party favors. If it’s the persons bday why shouldn’t THEY be pampered?

I’m not sure if this is a u.s thing only (where I’m from) but I’m curious how people feel about it.

Side note: I have children so I have thrown them parties so they didn’t feel left out, but I certainly didn’t enjoy throwing parties for them that costs hundreds and it was meant for them to be celebrated and showered with love and gifts. Lol
