39 weeks, nothing
I’m 39 weeks today! Which is an exciting milestone, but also frustrating as it feels like nothing is progressing.
There’s no mucus plug coming out, there’s no intense pressure on my pelvis, there’s no diarrhea signaling that my body is clearing itself out in preparation, there are no contractions. At my 37 week appt my OB said that my cervix was doing nothing.
There is occasional nausea and a ridiculous number of trips to the bathroom to pee. And insomnia—can’t forget the insomnia.
I’ve been walking my feet off, bouncing on the ball, doing wall-sits, climbing up and down stairs, drinking raspberry leaf tea. I’m just frustrated that nothing feels like it’s changing or progressing in any way.
She’s my first and I know most people have their babies at or after their due date. But I wish I was at least experiencing some signs that things are moving in the right direction. Or to know that everything I’ve been doing is helping at least a little.
And I’m tired. I’m very very tired.
Any words of encouragement?
