Ttc and seeking advice

Hi there! My husband and I are ttc for baby #2, and I feel like my brain forgot all of the things it knew about finding out I was pregnant the first time. My period is 2 days late and I had a weird spot yesterday where I wiped and there a very small amount of blood. There hasn’t been any since. I guess I’m just wondering when I should take a test, and if I should only take it in the morning? I took an EPT test when I got home from work today and it was negative.
